With it's proximity to the Central Valley and the San Jose airport, the Central Pacific coast from Jaco to Parrita is one of the most desirable locations in the country for those wanting to be close to the beach. This is not a luxury community, but still has plenty of amenities and has good quality construction. The current association fees are only $30 per month. That covers the 24 hour security guards and up keep of the beautiful pool and community area. The common area offers four covered rancho barbecue areas, a basketball court, and an abundance of green area to enjoy. People will ask, "Why so inexpensive"? There are several factors that come into play there. Keep in mind, the lots for these homes are not large, they are detached homes, with a small back yard and they are definitely a step up from condominium living. The community is under development by a Tico owner and builder who only employ local laborers. They have been able to buy material in bulk, cutting their costs and it's nice to see that the builder himself owns and lives in the community with his family. His philosophy has been to offer affordable homes to all buyers, Tico as well as foreigners, and thus the costs are low, and there is a great mix of everyone in the community.

The developer is offering owner financing on even the least expensive homes. With only about 20% down, they will finance for 15 years on a fixed rate. So financing is an option as well. If you are not familiar with Esterillos Oeste, it is one of the great little hidden gems of the Central Pacific. Esterillos is still a simple fishing village where you can buy fresh fish every day right off the boats as they come in with their morning catch, but Esterillos offers many other amenities most beach communities do not have. There is a lighted soccer field which host weekly games from all over the surrounding communities. There is an elementary school for kindergarten through 6th grade. There are many volunteer opportunities available for those wanting to get involved. There are two markets where you can find almost everything you can find in the larger stores just 20 minutes away in Jaco. There are a wide variety of small sodas, bars and restaurants throughout the town, with several looking right out on the beach. The community will soon be offering a new pharmacy and a new deli as well.
The beach in Esterillos Oeste is one where you can literally walk for miles in both directions. Home of the famous mermaid statue, the west end of the beach offers unique lava rock formations and an abundance of tide pools. It is one of the best areas along the coast to enjoy a long walk on the beach and collecting of shells. There is a flock of about 60 scarlet macaws that call Esterillos Oeste home. There is rarely a day goes by that you will not be able to enjoy these beautiful creatures.
