Costa Rica Real Estate - So called 'developers' that don't want to reveal anything...

Scott Oliver
Printer-Friendly Format

I recently received one of those strange emails which shows just how narrow, money minded some people are...

All he said was that: "I'm the developer of a condominium lot project on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, whose website is www.namedeleted.com - Please contact me if you're interested in helping to market it in exchange for a sales commission."

I replied: "We are happy to consider experienced developers with a proven track record of delivering quality real estate in Costa Rica. Since your website tells me nothing about the people behind the project which we consider extremely important, I look forward to receiving more information from you before we even think about helping you. I do hope you understand. Best wishes."

And he then replied saying: "Your very authoritarian e-mail convinces me I'd be crazy to deal with you. So you'll get nothing."

When do you plan on retiring to Costa Rica?

  • I replied saying that: "We work with some of the biggest developers in Costa Rica who are delighted with what we have done for them... It would see that you have something to hide do you?"

And he replied: "Listen, idiot, better drop it!"

That was it, the entire email exchange... Turns out this man was a fairly influential Costa Rican politician and one of the founders of the Libertarian Movement in Costa Rica.

Well you all know how much respect I have for politicians, eh?

He was obviously out to impress me with his tact, diplomacy and mastery of the English language.

Fascinating though isn't it? He's probably one of those people who is accustomed to simply paying someone to say exactly what he wants about him and what he does.

There is a possibility that we might have said good things about him 'if' we liked what he has done but since he is unwilling to give us even the most basic of information, I would be the one that would be "crazy" to even think about presenting anything he's involved with to our VIP Members...

Needless to say he is now most definitely on the radar and we'll just be watching his progress or lack of any...

The VIP Members of WeLoveCostaRica.com and the professionals we recommend understand that some things are more important than money and having terminated all Google advertising on this site - which meant cutting off close to $20,000 in annual income - I do back up my words with action.

This was done because we don't want 'unsavory' people doing their 'bait and switch' or, selling 'ocean view land' to our VIP Members that does not have an ocean view.

If you are in the market for Costa Rica real estate, by all means visit our 'Costa Rica Realtor' or the 'Help-U-Search' section on your left and we will make sure that someone experienced, qualified and caring will help you find what you are looking for...
