Costa Rica Mortgages - Letters of Reference

Providing the proper documentation to get loan approval is essential. Reference letters are an essential part to show proof of history of behavior and character to the underwriter reviewing your file. We require two reference letters:
- One letter is needed to testify to your personal character and
- The other letter will reference your professional character.
Your professional reference letter needs to come from someone you either work for or with currently -- or in the case of self-employed applicants, someone you currently do business with. This will have to be on letterhead and contain the position of the individual issuing the letter. Your personal reference letter can either come from someone you work with or it can come from a good friend of many years. When requesting someone to write a personal reference letter on your behalf it is always wise to use someone that has known you a considerable length of time so they can note that in their referral as well as utilizing someone that will issue it on their company letterhead if possible.
