Costa Rica Rental - Fully furnished Grecia guesthouse

Our fully furnished one bedroom guest house is for rent by the week or longer.

It's located seven kilometers (about 4.5 miles) outside downtown Grecia on a cool and quiet mountainside at an altitude of about 4,100 feet. Year 'round temperatures range from 58 to 83 degrees but are usually in the 60s and 70s.

We're fifty minutes from Juan Santamaria International Airport, a little over an hour from San Jose and six hundred meters from the paved road and hourly bus service.

Short-term rental or long-term, Grecia is a good base to explore Costa Rica.

From our vantage point, you can watch flocks of parrots, soaring birds of prey and a dozen other species of birds, often from above.

This is a great base from which to explore Costa Rica, write the great American novel, or just veg out and experience the very best Costa Rica's Central Valley has to offer.

Built in 2005, this 860 square foot house includes a large bedroom with a built-in dresser, a large closet, and a ceiling fan (rarely needed). All bed linens are included. There's a great view of the mountainside from the bed for when you wake up.

The Select Comfort air mattress (like those featured at Radisson Hotels) on the bed, with a separate control for each side, allows you to decide how firm or soft you want your mattress. There is also a second air mattress for guests.

The bathroom features a large walk-in shower with hand held spray, granite counter top, hot water and plenty of storage. Bath linens are included. Unlike most Costa Rican homes, ours has high-traction floor tile to prevent falls. A hair dryer is available for your use.

The great room includes the kitchen and living area with another ceiling fan. The kitchen has a full-size Maytag refrigerator, a Maytag smooth-top range and a Maytag over-the-counter microwave, a double sink, granite counter tops, a large pantry, hot water and a separate island.

The kitchen is fully furnished with small appliances, pots and pans, glassware, silverware, plates, bowls and saucers, cutlery, cooking utensils, linens, etc.

The living area includes a Natuzzi double recliner leather sofa, an Ekornes Stressless leather recliner chair, a massage chair, and a small dining table. The 37-inch high-definition television features U.S.-source English language TV. We've also included a DVD player. And there's a view of the mountainside across the valley.

Picturesque country views are also included.

The balcony off the living room provides outdoor seating and another spectacular view up and down our valley. The attached garage with opener is available at no additional cost, if needed.

All utilities are included in the rent including water, electricity, English language TV, trash removal, a private telephone line and a cell phone. Internet access is via a wireless, truly high-speed (2mb/1mb) connection, so bring your laptop or iPad. VOIP (Skype and magicJack) works just fine.

The house comes furnished with an initial supply of paper products, soap and cleaning supplies, coffee, filters, salt and pepper, etc. If you send us a list, we'll shop for you before you arrive. Housekeeping service is not included but might be arranged at additional cost.

Airport pick-up and drop off are included. Please schedule your arrival at Juan Santamaria International Airport outside San Jose (airport code: SJO) before 9:00pm. (We are not available to meet you at the airport in Liberia.)

A well equipped and fully furnished rental like this is an unusual find and a great value.

Other Terms:

We require a twenty percent deposit payable via PayPal. (It's easy.) The balance of the first month's rent is payable in U.S. dollars upon your arrival.

Please - No smoking, no drugs and no heavy drinking.

If you're cold-blooded, please bring an extra sweater or sweatshirt. Evenings can sometimes be chilly, and there is neither heat nor air conditioning. We do have sweatshirts available.
