Last Saturday morning after sending out my newsletter entitled: 3 Hot Swedish Girls in Costa Rica Covered in Mud? I receive a couple of unusual emails:

  1. ‘If you don’t want your emails flagged as porn spam, I suggest that you not make your subjects suggest it. And why would anyone do business with someone who sends such trash?

    My short response was:

‘I have no interest in “doing business” with you and if you don’t like the newsletter, unsubscribe. Real simple. Have a nice day. PS. I did not write the article…’

And as for ‘trash’ has she never seen the tabloids, or the television or a Hollywood movie recently?

  3. Another wrote to me:

‘Your advertising – it does not turn a married woman on. Rather a turn off. Really – that’s what.’

  4. What? This is WeLoveCostaRica.com, this is not WeTurnMarriedWomanOn.com!

  5. Yet another wrote to me saying: ‘How about 3 hot Black men covered in mud and dancing?

I replied saying: ‘You write the article Leila – in good taste – and I’ll publish it… I dare you!’

It’s hard not to feel sorry for people like this.

Publishers of all kinds try to use attention grabbing headlines but the LAST thing on my mind was anything to do with porn which says more about the sender’s mindset than mine.

These lovely young Swedish women featured in Michael Simon’s amusing article were visiting Costa Rica, it was about 95 degrees so they were indeed hot and they were covered in volcanic mud which is a proven treatment for removing toxins from your body, and?

But seriously speaking, if this sort of tongue-in-cheek humour disturbs you:

“Please do not come to Costa Rica, stay right where you are and unsubscribe from my newsletter.” Scott Oliver.

You need a sense of humour to live happily anywhere and if you don’t have one, you’ll be miserable and we don’t want miserable people around us while we’re trying have fun.

Thankfully most people I know living in Costa Rica are happier here than they’ve ever been before.
