In Friday’s ‘Weekend Journal’ of the Wall Street Journal the ‘Travel’ section feaured an article on how many hotels are now raising their prices for the first time since September 11th. According to Fred Shea, Hyatt’s vice president of sales, “… demand has been unbelievable.”

They quoted the “new rates and bargains for some popular upscale resorts in the Caribbean and Hawaii.”

Our one bedroom accomodation was clean, the colour television worked perfectly and the small refrigerator successfully managed to chill our one bottle of fine Chilean Carmeniere which had warmed up in the trunk after the long drive.

At ‘full-blast’ the shower in the bathroom was so powerful it was physically painful… There was a beautiful view from the large balcony and although we did not use it, there was also a small private pool on the ground floor below us.
