Tamarindo, Guanacaste

Party Time Costa Rica Style. The typical fiestas in Villareal, Guanacaste.

Guanacaste is kind of like the Texas of Costa Rica. Though it is the largest of all the provinces in the country, it only holds about 9% of the population. With its wide plains and open country, the cattle industry has played a major roll in what we consider modern day Guanacaste. And where there are cattle, you will find cowboys (and cowgirls)

Culture and Entertainment Living in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Dinner and a show at the beach for only US$39.95

Not long ago, Tamarindo was a small rural surfer’s camp and not much else. Who would have thought that less than a decade later it would be served by an airport and that dinner theatre would be one of the many entertainment options? Next month the first dinner theater production, “The Odd Couple” will open at Fisch Restaurant in downtown Tamarindo.

Where In The World is Playa Negra?

Playa Negra, have you heard of it? Most likely not unless you’re a surfer! I really don’t like mentioning that this surf break was featured in the follow up movie up movie to one of the most popular surf movies of all time, Endless Summer but it is true and you have to mention it.

When kids act up, they are more likely going to be scooped up and played with rather than be the object of dirty looks. They have it made here! Kids get to ride on quads, see monkeys in the trees (this never gets old), go sailing, horseback riding, rafting, fishing, explore estuaries and skateboarding at one of the many parks in the area.

How A Family With Two Children From Albuquerque Ended Up Living in Costa Rica

For four years my husband and I had planned our move down to Old Mexico. We love Mexico; we love the tropics, the surf, and the lifestyle. We thrive on adventure and strive for change. We didn’t want starting a family to change that; rather, we wanted to share our passions with our children.
