I was born in Saint Paul Minnesota the day after Christmas in 1946. Growing up a typical Midwestern youth loving to hunt, fish and play sports.

Blessed with great parents now both in their 90’s and married for 68 years, our family was, by no means rich however, I had a great life and learned the values of life from great parents.

I had no real estate experience other than buying and selling a number of properties. My profession would be a Specialty Coffee Roaster and I spent 30 years in the industry. My favorite coffee was and is Costa Rican and I made many trips to Costa Rica to buy coffee.

My first trip to Costa Rica was in 1976 (30 years ago) and I just kept coming back. I love Costa Rica, the people, the climate, the fishing and the stunning beauty. I have been coming here for half of my life and feel, very much, like it is a home to me.

About twenty years ago I discovered the Osa Peninsula and the quaint little river town of Sierpe. That was it for me, I love this area and the people are the best. I bought a house, then the one next door, the lot next to that and finally the lot on the other side. Buying these four properties was a joy but beyond that, it was an education.

It was, in fact, the beginning of my real estate education in Costa Rica that has developed into a business and favorite pastime.

I continued on helping friends and others buy properties, each with their unique problems that I would accept the challenge and get it done right. I now have 20 years of experience in buying and selling properties in this special part of Costa Rica.

Three years ago I joined up with Sonia a Tica who has been living in Sierpe for many years and started our real estate business. Sonia has run the grocery store in Sierpe for years and knows everyone in the town and area.

Sonia is an incredible resource and, off the top of her head, can tell you who the owner of most properties is and who the neighbors are. She has the CBR license and has completed the training provided by CBRCC.

My son Trevor has joined our company and we have adopted the name: Grupo Amigos De Sierpe, literally: a group of friends from Sierpe.

Now in our third year we have learned much and continue to learn. Of the many sales we have made, I am proud to say that there is not one client that we could not use as a reference.

I feel very lucky to be in this part of the world doing something I enjoy so much. It is rewarding and fulfilling. I treat each client as if they were a friend (most have become good friends) and take the responsibility of making certain each deal is done properly, safely and cleanly.
